Su investigación se centra en el desarrollo y utilización de métodos espacialmente explícitos que permitan generar conocimiento para la planificación de paisajes sustentables, tomando como bases disciplinares a la Ecología Urbana, Ecología del Paisaje y Sustentabilidad. Sus áreas principales de investigación actualmente se relacionan con desigualdad ambiental, segregación urbana, vegetación urbana, servicios ecosistémicos, cobertura del suelo, restauración de paisajes, métricas de paisaje, clasificación espectral y sistemas de priorización espacial para la toma de decisiones.
